Cancellation Policy

1. Cancelling your trip

If you need to cancel, please tell us in writing (email or WhatsApp). The cancellation date is the day we receive your message. The following charges apply, calculated on the total trip price:

60 days or more before arrival: loss of deposit
59 to 30 days before arrival: 50% of the total trip price
29 to 15 days before arrival: 75% of the total trip price
Less than 15 days before arrival, or no-show: 100% of the total trip price

2. Permits, flights and third-party services

Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are subject to Uganda Wildlife Authority rules and are generally non-refundable once issued. Domestic and international flights follow the airline's fare rules. Some lodges have stricter cancellation terms, which we tell you about when you book.

These costs are charged in addition to, or instead of, the percentages above where they are higher.

3. Changing instead of cancelling

If you would like to move your trip to new dates instead of cancelling, contact us as early as possible. We will try to rebook with our partners, and only pass on any fees they charge.

4. If we cancel your trip

Sir Kong Tours & Travel will only cancel a confirmed trip if it is unavoidable, for example for safety reasons. In that case you can choose a full refund of the money you paid us, or an alternative trip of equal value.

5. Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for cancellations or changes caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, political unrest, government restrictions or severe weather. In such cases we will help you rebook, and refund any amounts we are able to recover from our partners.
