1. Making an enquiry
You can enquire through our website, by WhatsApp, phone or email. An enquiry is free and does not commit you to anything.
We reply with a proposed itinerary and a written quote. Quotes are valid for 14 days unless we state otherwise, because lodge rates, permit fees and exchange rates can change.
2. Confirming your booking
Your booking is confirmed when you accept the quote in writing and we receive your deposit. We then send a booking confirmation with your itinerary and payment schedule.
- A deposit of 30% of the total trip price is due to confirm your booking.
- Gorilla and chimpanzee permits must be paid in full at the time of booking, as the Uganda Wildlife Authority requires full payment to reserve permits.
- The balance is due 45 days before your arrival. Bookings made less than 45 days before arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.
3. Payment
Prices are quoted in US dollars unless agreed otherwise. We accept bank transfer, mobile money and other payment methods agreed in writing. Bank and transfer charges are paid by the sender.
We will never ask you to pay into a personal account that is not stated on our official invoice. If in doubt, call us before paying.
4. Travel documents and health
You are responsible for having a valid passport (with at least six months' validity from your arrival date), the correct visa and any required vaccination certificates.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Uganda. Please check current entry and health requirements with your doctor and the relevant embassy before you travel.
5. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, emergency evacuation and loss of belongings, taken out when you pay your deposit.
6. Changes to your booking
We will do our best to accommodate changes you request after confirmation. Changes depend on availability and may involve extra costs from lodges, airlines or permit authorities, which we pass on at cost.
Gorilla and chimpanzee permit dates can only be changed if the Uganda Wildlife Authority allows it, and its rescheduling fees apply.
7. Age and fitness requirements
Gorilla trekking is open to visitors aged 15 and over. Some activities have other age or fitness requirements, which we explain when you book. Please tell us about any medical conditions or mobility needs so we can plan safely.
8. Our responsibilities
Sir Kong Tours & Travel arranges your trip with care and works with trusted lodges, airlines and partners. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, and itineraries may need to change because of weather, road conditions or park regulations. If this happens, we will offer the best available alternative.
